The Miracle

From the moment of birth, we encourage you to experience intimate bonding through skin to skin contact and non separation.
Typically the environment into which babies are born is peaceful and quiet with dim lights, soft music and diffusing essential oils. Most mothers labor and even deliver in clean, warm birth pools and choose their own most comfortable positions to labor and birth.
Babies born under these conditions will usually be quiet, alert and actively bond with their parents. It truly is a miracle to witness.
The Journey Continues

We provide continued support and watchful monitoring to the mother and baby from the time of birth and immediately thereafter during the postpartum period. We are attentive to assure the best start on their continuing journey. Following the immediate recovery phase, parents will utilize the skills and education received prior to the birth to carefully monitor both mom and baby. Within the first 24-48 hours, the midwife will visit the family in the home to check on the mom and baby. Between days 3-5, 10-14, and 6 weeks after the birth, mom and baby will return to the birth center for follow up appointments. We stay in close contact at all times and see mothers and babies more often if needed. In addition to these services, the midwives can also assist mothers with breastfeeding and baby care advice when needed.
