Meredith has been a birth worker for 12 years and has been licensed in the state of Texas as a midwife for 7 years. Originally from the Dallas Fort Worth area, she founded and opened a birth center with a heart for serving families who otherwise would not have access to midwifery care. She owned and operated the Birth & Wellness Center of Arlington for 5 years before getting married and passing on the torch to a colleague, to make space for starting her own family. She and her husband Hank have two fur babies, Rory and Chevy. They hope to have babies of their own eventually but for now are enjoying newlywed life and trusting God’s timing! Following God’s leadership, they relocated to Katy in the late Fall of 2024 to join our team.
Meredith has spent years passionately pursuing the dreams that God placed in her heart. She has well-rounded experience including design, international missions, and nursing, and ultimately ended up in the field of midwifery, with a heart for families seeking to have an out-of-hospital Birth.
“My first birth experience was as a photographer nearly 20 years ago. It was at a local birthing center in DFW. It was then that my eyes were opened and I knew that God was calling me to a life in healthcare, serving families at their most vulnerable times. A few years later, while I was pursuing a degree in nursing, I was employed at a DFW hospital as the Unit Coordinator of Labor & Delivery. What a DRASTIC difference there was in what I knew existed and what I witnessed day in and day out. Trusting that birth is God’s original design and that women are capable vs. approaching all pregnancies like they’re automatically intensive illnesses. While I advocate for the safety and understand that the medical system is appropriate for SOME, I understood more than ever after spending years working at the hospital that it is absolutely not the first, best choice for MOST. It was then that I decided to leave the hospital setting and pursue midwifery. And what an absolute joy it is for me to walk alongside growing families, empowering mamas and loving on babies.”
